Electric vehicles will help reduce CO2 emissions in Frederiksberg

Frederiksberg Forsyning’s new electric cars are connected to new technology that can help reduce CO2 emissions.

Even on a global scale, it is nothing short of unique that Frederiksberg Forsyning’s 10 newly purchased electric cars use so-called V2G-charging stations. V2G stands for Vehicle to Grid (vehicle-togrid) and is a technology that helps stabilize the grid at peak times.

When the electric cars are not in use, they serve as mobile sources that both receives and delivers electricity to Energinet Denmark as needed. By balancing the power grid in this way, it is possible to reduce CO2 emissions, so seen from an environmental perspective, there is a great potential in the V2G technology. This is to be seen in contrast to power plants running on e.g. fossil fuels, which are required to work when the power grid needs to be stabilized.

It is these 10 electic cars that will deliver data to the Parker Project. Read the full news story here (only in Danish)
